Locksmiths

There are three locksmiths in Torre del Mar. This is a trade you always end up searching for at the worst possible moment, which is exactly when people choose badly and pay too much.

Save the number before you need it

That is the whole advice. Locked out at eleven at night is not the moment to start comparing.

Ask two things on the phone

• The call-out charge. Coming to your door usually costs something separate from the work itself.
• The out-of-hours surcharge. Nights, weekends and holidays are charged differently, and it rarely gets mentioned unless you ask.

Keys are cheaper at the hardware shop

For copying keys you do not need a locksmith. Several hardware shops in town cut them on the spot and it costs less. Call a locksmith when the lock itself is the problem.
