Getting here

Torre del Mar sits about 33 km east of Málaga city and roughly 40 km from the airport, on the eastern Costa del Sol.

The options

• Car. The A-7 motorway or the N-340 coast road, a little over half an hour from Málaga. The fastest and most flexible way, and the one that leaves you with the parking problem in August.
• Bus. ALSA runs more than a hundred daily services between Málaga and Torre del Mar. The journey takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour depending on stops. The station is in the centre of town, next to Avenida de Andalucía.
• Taxi. Door to door, no timetable. For an early flight it is usually the only sensible option, and worth arranging the night before.

There is no train

Worth stating plainly, because visitors look for one. The Málaga commuter rail line runs west along the coast, and the Axarquía was left out of it. If you arrive by train at Málaga María Zambrano, you continue by bus or car.

No direct airport bus

There is no direct service between the airport and Torre del Mar. You connect in Málaga. For an early departure, that connection rarely works, which is why most people take a taxi.
