Getting here
Parking
From October to May parking here is easy. In July and August it becomes the hardest part of the trip, so it is worth knowing the map before you start circling.
The options
- Free spaces, more than a hundred of them beside the sea with direct access to the promenade. They fill early but they do turn over.
- Blue zone in the centre and along the seafront, paid by the hour, with extended hours in summer. Right for a quick errand, wrong for a whole afternoon.
- Parking Las Yucas, in Calle Azucena, pay and display.
- Parking P-Hus, covered, on Paseo de Larios and a few metres from the beach. In July and August it is one of the few reliable places to leave the car.
The days to avoid driving in
The town fair, the air show and the Weekend Beach Festival overwhelm any plan. On those weekends the bus or a taxi will save you an hour behind the wheel.
