If you are moving here with children, the short answer is that the town covers the full school system without leaving the district: nursery, primary, secondary, sixth form and vocational training, plus a music conservatory.

Enrolment

The application window is in spring. Families who arrive outside that window enter through the vacancy process instead, so it is worth looking into early rather than in September. Registration on the town's padrón, the municipal register, is normally required and is done at the local council office.

Private tuition and languages

The private sector here is unusually strong for the size of the town, with seven documented academies covering English, tutoring and exam preparation. Three of them hold a perfect public rating, which is rare in any trade. Ask for a trial lesson before enrolling: in teaching, the fit with the person in front of the class decides more than any review.
