What to do
Things to do
The calendar here has four fixed points, and they are big enough to fill every bed in town, so they are worth knowing before you book.
The year in four dates
- Weekend Beach Festival, July. A multi-day music festival on the sand.
- Feria de Santiago y Santa Ana, late July. The town fair, daytime in the centre and night-time on the fairground.
- International Air Show, September. Aircraft display over the beach, one of the largest of its kind in Europe.
- Oktoberfest, October, which stretches the season past the summer.
Exact dates move every year, so check before booking anything.
The rest of the year
The family plan is Aquavelis, the water park, which is open in the summer months and is, by a wide margin, the most reviewed business in the whole town. After dark the promenade takes over: bars, karaoke and terraces, with the livelier end towards Paseo de Larios and Levante.
One practical note. During the fair and the festival, accommodation and parking both run out. If you are coming for one of those weekends, sort out where you sleep and how you arrive well in advance.
