There are two service stations in Torre del Mar, on Avenida de Andalucía and the main through roads, with fuel, a shop and the usual forecourt services.

Attended and unattended are two different experiences

In Spain both models coexist. At an attended station someone fills the tank and you pay inside or at the pump. At an unattended one you do everything by card at the machine, the fuel is normally cheaper, and there is nobody to help if the machine refuses your card. Foreign cards are usually fine, but a pre authorisation hold is common, so do not be alarmed by a temporary charge larger than the fuel.

At night, check before driving on empty

Not every station keeps the same hours all year, and outside the summer the late night options in this area thin out. If you are heading inland into the Axarquía or along the coast at night, fill up here rather than assuming the next one is open.

The rating gap has an explanation

One of the two carries more than three times the reviews of the other and a better score. In a forecourt trade the score mostly reflects the shop, the queue and the staff rather than the fuel, which is the same product everywhere.
