Supermarkets
There are ten supermarkets in Torre del Mar and almost all of them sit on Avenida de Andalucía, the town's main artery. The busiest by a wide margin has more than 3,000 public reviews, which in a town this size tells you where everyone shops.
Chains and neighbourhood shops
Use the chains for the big shop: they are on the avenue and they have parking. Use the small neighbourhood shops for the errand, when all that is missing is bread and milk. One of them is the only locally owned supermarket in town with a public track record.
Two practical notes
- The hypermarket is not in Torre del Mar. It is at the shopping centre on the road towards Vélez-Málaga, a different postcode, so factor in the drive.
- In July and August, shop early or late. The town multiplies its population and the midday checkout queue becomes the worst part of the day.
