The public health centre is in Calle Eduardo Iglesias. It is the entry point to the Andalusian health system and where you see a family doctor.

Getting an appointment

By phone through Salud Responde on 955 545 060, or through the ClicSalud+ app or website. You do not need to queue at the desk for this. For a life-threatening emergency, the number is 061, and the general emergency number is 112.

There is no hospital here

Worth knowing before you need it. Anything beyond primary care goes to the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía in Vélez-Málaga, a few minutes away by car.

Private clinics

The private route is what most people use for a specialist without a waiting list, and the clinics here work with the main insurers. Two notes on choosing one. First, read the rating together with the number of reviews: in this sector you will find a perfect score from eleven people alongside a 3.8 backed by nearly six hundred, and the second figure tells you far more. Second, the low rating of the public health centre does not measure its doctors. People rate the wait and the booking system, and that happens across the whole of Andalusia.
