Zanzibar Waves and Vibes

Zanzibar Waves and Vibes occupies number 2 of the Poniente promenade, the first thing you reach when you leave the centre heading west. It is one of the two places on this beach that hold a 4.7, and the only one of the two that also runs afternoon music sessions.

The way I read it, this is a place for the long version of a beach day. You eat at a table on the sand in the early afternoon, you stay for a drink as the light drops, and the evening keeps going from there. The kitchen is Mediterranean and the bar takes over later, which is a different proposition from the espeto chiringuitos further along.

Two practical notes. It works in season, so outside the summer months check before you set out. And if what you want is the wood fire and the sardines rather than the cocktail hour, walk another two hundred metres west: this stretch has both kinds of place within sight of each other.
