Paseo de Larios

The Paseo de Larios is the walking promenade that runs from the centre down to the seafront. It carries 17 verified businesses, and nine of them are restaurants. No other street in Torre del Mar is so single minded.

What it is for

Eating, drinking and walking. The terraces line both sides, there is a covered car park on it, and in the evening this is where the town comes out. It is the closest thing Torre del Mar has to a central square that happens to be a street.

When to come

• Evenings, from around eight. Before that it is quiet, and a quiet terrace here at seven means nothing about the kitchen.
• In August it is full. The whole seasonal population passes along here between the town and the beach.

It ends at the sea

Walk to the bottom and you are on the promenade, with the beach in front of you and the chiringuitos in both directions. That fifteen minute walk from the avenue to the water is, for most visitors, the shape of the whole town.
