The lighthouse

The lighthouse stands at the eastern end of the promenade of Torre del Mar. It is the landmark of the town, the thing on every postcard, and the natural end point of the walk that the town itself does every evening.

The walk

From the bottom of the Paseo de Larios, turn east and keep going. It is flat the whole way, paved, and the sea is on your right for the entire distance. There is no particular hurry built into it, which is the point.

What is around it

The municipal padel courts are beside it, and the beach carries on past it towards the open coast. It is quieter here than at the central stretch, which in August is a reason in itself.

When to come

At sunset the light comes from behind the town and hits the water, which is when everyone with a camera is here. Early morning is the other good hour, and you will have the promenade to yourself.
