Best opticians
Seven opticians in Torre del Mar carry a public rating. It is one of the strongest scoring trades in the directory: the top four all hold 4.9 or 5.0, on review counts that run from a few dozen to well over a hundred.

A table where the difference between first and fourth is a tenth of a point is not really ordering anyone. What separates these is the volume behind the score and the service they actually offer, so read the review count column rather than the rating.
The eye test is normally free, and that has a catch
Opticians in Spain routinely test your sight at no charge as part of buying glasses. It is a genuine refraction test and it works. What it is not is an ophthalmological examination: pressure, retina and eye disease are a doctor's job, through your health centre or a private clinic. If you have not had a medical eye check in years, the free test at the optician does not replace it.
Practical
- Bring your current prescription if you have one from abroad. The format is readable across countries and it saves a visit.
- Contact lens wearers: ask about supply, since not every shop stocks every brand and ordering takes days.
