Six nursery schools in Torre del Mar carry a public rating, with close to 350 reviews between them, covering the pre-school stage in both public and private provision.

Two of the top three are the same project

Worth knowing when reading the table: two of the highest placed are two sites of the same nursery, which is why their figures look alike. The most reviewed of the trade, with 149 opinions, is a separate centre and holds a slightly lower rating on far more evidence.

Two things to sort out months ahead

• The enrolment window is in spring. Families arriving outside it go through the vacancy process instead, so start looking months before September rather than in it.
• Register on the padrón first. The municipal population register is normally required for enrolment and is done at the council office in the Casa de Larios. Everything else depends on it.

Public and private are different processes

Public places are allocated by a points system taking in residence, work situation and family circumstances. Private nurseries decide their own admissions. If you are moving mid year, the private route is usually the realistic one.
