There are **five tobacconists** in Torre del Mar. That is not a selection, it is the complete list: an _estanco_ is a state-licensed outlet and new ones are only licensed by the state, so this list rarely changes. Four of them carry their number in the name: 1, 2, 3 and 5.

## They are not just for tobacco

This is the part foreigners rarely know. Tobacconists sell **official stamped paper**, which several administrative procedures require you to produce, along with postage stamps and phone top-ups. If a form tells you to bring _papel timbrado_, this is where you buy it.

## Practical

Hours differ more than you would expect. According to their Google listings, Nº2 on calle Enmedio closes at 10.30 pm and Mainake on calle los Fenicios at 10 pm, while Número 1 on calle del Río closes at midday like the rest of the small shops.
