Torre del Mar has several **nursery schools** covering the pre-school stage, both public and private.

## Two things to sort out early

- **The enrolment window is in spring.** Families arriving outside it enter through the vacancy process instead, so it is worth looking into months ahead rather than in September.
- **Register on the _padrón_ first.** The municipal population register is normally required for enrolment and is done at the council office in the Casa de Larios. It is the document everything else depends on.

## Public and private are not the same process

Public nursery places are allocated by a scoring system that takes into account residence, work situation and family circumstances. Private nurseries set their own admissions. If you are moving mid-year, the private route is usually the realistic one.
