# Sleeping cheaply

There are three ways to sleep cheaply in Torre del Mar, and one decision that saves more than all three put together.

## The decision that matters most

**When you come.** Between August and October the same accommodation here can cost **half**. October on this coast still gives you sea you can swim in and a town that works normally, without the August prices or the August queues. If your dates are flexible at all, this is where the money is.

## The three routes

- **The two hostales** in the town centre, which are the cheapest roofed option and are small, so they go early in season.
- **The campsite**, Laguna Playa, which is on the promenade itself rather than out of town. It is the only campsite in the town centre.
- **Holiday flats**, which are the largest part of the accommodation stock here by a distance. For a family or a stay of more than a few nights, this is usually the cheapest per person.

## Two practical notes

- **Check the distance to the beach in metres, not in adjectives.** The town is small but the difference between the seafront and the far side of the avenue is real in August.
- **Ask whether air conditioning is included** in a holiday flat and whether it is metered. In July and August it is not a luxury.
