--- title: "The best of Torre del Mar, ranked" description: "Fifty rankings built from public Google ratings and a published score out of 100. How the score works and what it deliberately does not measure." url: https://torredelmar.net/en/best/ author: Sergio Lepone (torredelmar.net) language: en --- Rankings # The best of Torre del Mar This section ranks the businesses of Torre del Mar by a **score out of 100** that this portal calculates and publishes in full. It is not a list of recommendations and nobody pays to appear in it. ## What the score is made of - **Average Google rating, 20 points,** adjusted for how many people back it, so that a five with two opinions does not overtake a 4.8 with five hundred. - **Number of reviews, 12 points,** on a logarithmic scale. - **Its own website, 62 points.** Whether it loads over a secure connection, makes clear who they are and what they do, and publishes phone, address and opening hours. A social media page is not a website. - **A published telephone number, 6 points.** The website and the phone only count when that check has been made across an entire trade, so that nobody is compared against a business measured on more data than they were. Until then, the score comes from the rating and the reviews alone. ## What it does not measure Quality. It measures the public trace a business leaves, which is a different thing and worth saying plainly. A superb kitchen with nobody writing about it will sit lower than a good one that people talk about, and no formula fixes that. ## Why publish it at all Because it is the same information every visitor is already looking at, scattered across a hundred listings, gathered in one place with the arithmetic shown. If a business thinks its position is wrong, the breakdown says exactly which factor it is losing on, which is more useful than a badge. Every figure carries the date it was verified. - [Best administrators](https://torredelmar.net/en/best-property-administrators/) Current leader R.L.
