## This is the ranking that decides least

Worth saying at the top. In therapy the fit between two people is most of the outcome, and no aggregate of public reviews reaches it. ## Check the professional title

To practise therapy in Spain the regulated qualification is _psicólogo general sanitario_, or a clinical psychology specialism, and every practitioner is registered with their regional professional body with a membership number. Asking for it is normal.

## Practical

- **Ask about language before booking.** Therapy in your own language is not a detail, it is most of the work.
- **Public mental health care goes through your GP** at the health centre, with long waits for anything not urgent. Everything here is private.
- **Several of these practices also offer speech therapy and educational support**, which is what many families actually come for.
