# BBVA (Torre del Mar)

The **BBVA** branch sits on **Alameda de Larios**, just off Avenida de Andalucía, within the short stretch where the banks of the town are concentrated.

## Spanish banking runs on the app, and on appointments

Two habits surprise people arriving from abroad. Almost everything is done through the bank's own application, including things that in other countries still happen on paper, and counter service is increasingly by appointment, with cash desks open for limited hours in the morning.

Turning up at a branch at four in the afternoon expecting to speak to somebody rarely works. Book the appointment through the app or by phone, go in the morning, and take your identity document every time even if they know you. And if you are here for a fortnight and need something done, do it in the first week: in August a branch in a town like this one runs on a skeleton staff.
